Godzilla and Kong invade 'Warzone' in new limited time mode

Washington Post - Technology News

The "Operation Monarch" playlist revolves around players' encounters with Kong and Godzilla. If you deal enough damage while the titans are enraged during a "Titan Frenzy," which occurs twice per game, you'll be able to control them with a Titan S.C.R.E.A.M. Device (Sonic Communication Radar and Echolocation Array Module). You can choose to either have Kong hurl an asteroid-size rock in a designated area or Godzilla evaporate your foes with its heat ray breath.

Game-Changing 'Playground' Mode Is Hitting 'Fortnite: Battle Royale' Very Soon

Forbes - Tech

It might not seem like it, but I'd argue that this is bound to be Fortnite's most significant update since the introduction of Battle Royale itself. Developer Epic Games just announced that the new "Playground" limited time mode will be landing in Fortnite: Battle Royale soon, bringing with it the most extreme departure from standard gameplay that we've seen in any limited time mode yet. Playground will be a creative mode that will allow you to practice, build, die and respawn with none of the pressures of normal Battle Royale. The Playground LTM will load you into the Battle Royale Map with some adjusted settings. Battle and build to your heart's content with an extended period of time to roam around the map as well as increased resource generation.

Some Awesome New Supervillain And Basketball Skins Just Leaked For 'Fortnite: Battle Royale'

Forbes - Tech

Fortnite got a huge update this morning, and not everything contained inside was right there on the surface. We also got a heap of new cosmetic items that should be making their way to the shop over the coming weeks, and Epic continues to bring an excellent mic of skins both in and outside of the Season 4 theme. There's two in there that feel like they might be connected to a limited time mode, as well. The skins appear to have been first mined by DieBuddies, some dataminers that often get to this stuff first. Flytrap/Ventura: Ventura is clearly the female version of the Venturion skin, one of the more explicitly superhero-themed skins that have made their way into the game this Season.

Blitz v2 And Teams Of 20 v2: What's Different In Fortnite: Battle Royale's New Modes

Forbes - Tech

But for anyone that was getting a little tired of Solid Gold, there are also some new limited time modes in the mix, bringing some new ways to play aside from the usual solo, duo and squads gameplay. It's now become standard for Epic to run two limited time modes at one time, and this week we've got two old favorites retooled with some slight updates since they last showed up: Blitz v2 and Teams of 20 v2. Blitz v2: Blitz is a vastly accelerated version of the standard game. It starts with the storm circle already forming and then moves much more quickly from storm to storm from there: the maximum match length is just 15 minutes, which is perfect for mobile. There's also way more loot to facilitate chaos during those 15 minutes, with spawn increases for treasure chests, ammo boxes and supply drops, as well as increased resource harvesting rates to ensure that you can still get enough materials to build with in the endgame.

50 vs 50 Is Back, With One Big Change For 'Fortnite: Battle Royale'

Forbes - Tech

There was a surprise drop into Fortnite: Battle Royale this afternoon: the limited time 50 vs 50 V2 mode is back, and playable now. It makes for a single mad rush to a large-scale melee in the middle, and while the games end in blowouts a little more often than I would like, they're always a welcome break from the familiar rhythms of standard play. If you want to play 50 vs. Longtime Fortnite players -- or really just anyone who's been with the game a few weeks now -- will notice a big change for the game as a whole with this addition. I suspected it might happen when Epic shifted the "modes" menu to what it looks like now, but this marks the first time that we have two limited time modes running concurrently.
